Service Engineer Lifetime Achievement Award

 

Nominations will open in August 

 

The IOR Service Engineers' Section makes an annual lifetime achievement award to recognise an individual's commitment  to a career in service, maintenance or installation engineering. This award is sponsored by The ARC Journal Trainee of the Year Award. 

The Institute of Refrigeration Technician Awards celebrate the role of experienced engineers - the mainstay of our industry. The winner receives a prize of £400, an engraved trophy and a certificate, presented by the President of the Institute at the Annual Dinner. 

  • Nominations can be made by employers, clients or colleagues.

  • Candidates can be working in any refrigeration, air conditioning or heat pump related field in a service, maintenance or installation role.

  • They must have substantial experience in a technican level role and still be active in the industry.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to provide a cv and supply either a personal statement or take part in a phone interview.

  • Winners will be invited to attend the Institute of Refrigeration Annual Dinner to collect their award.

 

2017 Winners

 

Martyn Ross from J&E Hall

Martyn has had a career of over 40 years. He began on an Apprenticeship Programme in 1975 after studying for an HND in Mechanical and Refrigeration Engineering. He admits he has never had a dull day at work and is still learning due to the ever evolving nature of the industry. He has now held the role of Senior Commissioning Engineer for almost 30 years and has been in charge of commissioning and troubleshooting plant in some of the world’s remotest locations.

Grayme Selkirk from Tesco Refrigeration

Grayme has worked in the commercial refrigeration sector for over 39 years and has been described as “a testament to refrigeration industry”. Supporting the development of young talent, he plays a major role in the training and mentoring of apprentices and has driven improvements in technical capability for Tesco.
