Speakers, IIR, IOR, KCORC and IRC members receive reduced registration rates. A discounted student rate is available for those studying for a first degree or postgraduate qualification.

 

What is included in the registration fee?

Full conference delegates: 3 days of conference proceedings, a data stick of all papers, a choice of workshops, Life and Legacy of William Rankine Event, a welcome reception on the 26th July, lunches and refreshment breaks on the 27th 28th and 29th July and the the conference dinner on the 28th July at Kelvingrove Art Gallery.

 

Day Delegates: 1 day of conference proceedings, a data stick of all papers, lunch and refreshment breaks. Day delegates packages do not include either the conference dinner. 

 

Accommodation is not part of the delegate package and must be booked separately.

Accompanying persons

An informal programme for accompanying persons will be organised subject to interest and tailored to the requirements of those taking part. Glasgow is full of important historic sites, art galleries, tourist attractions and excellent shopping facilities. 

 

I am an international delegate, why do I need to pay VAT?

Conferences that take place in the UK are liable for UK VAT as they are classed under VAT legislation as 'services' and therefore VAT is chargeable at source. Overseas delegates must pay the VAT charged on their invoice initially but can claim this back from the UK VAT office. For information on reclaiming VAT see Notice no 723 which can be obtained fromwww.hmrc.gov.uk

Cancellation Policy

If a registrant is unable to attend the IIR International Rankine2020 Conference for any reason they may substitute, by arrangement, someone else from the same institute/organisation.

Where the registrant is unable to attend and is not in a position to transfer his/her place to another person then the following refund arrangements apply: 

  • Bookings cancelled on or before the 21st February 2020 will receive a full refund less a £50 handling fee.
  • Bookings cancelled between 22nd February 2020 and 15th June 2020 will be refunded 50% of the fee paid.
  • Bookings cancelled on or after the 16th June 2020 will not be eligible for a refund and 100% of the amount will be due.

All cancellations relating to the conference must be sent in writing to rankine2020@ior.org.uk

 

Additional information

This event is part of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) conference schedule. The IOR is organising the event on behalf of the IIR and in association with KCORC and IESIS. 

The delegate list will include the name and company affiliation of each delegate. The delegate list will be given to everyone attending the event.
