The Suction Accumulator (GPG 116)
A suction accumulator is applied in refrigeration and heat pump systems where there is a risk of liquid refrigerant slugs
returning to the compressor. As its name suggests it is located in the suction line of a system before the compressor. It
is an important component where wide varying loads can occur or there is a risk of liquid refrigerant slugs returning to
the compressor due to low superheats.
