This Good Practice Guide covers some frequently asked questions around the issue of disposal of end of life refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and the recovery and recycling of component parts and contents. Service companies are often asked to assist in the disposal of equipment and it is important that they understand the stringent legal requirements of Hazardous Waste and Waste Transfer requirements as you may be subject to on the spot fines if you get this wrong. If you are in any doubt you should contact your local Environment Agency for further advice.
