The Dearman Engine - Liquid Air for Transport Cooling
This paper describes a Truck Refrigeration Unit based on the Dearman Engine - a unique device which uses liquid Nitrogen as a fuel, delivering zero emissions at point of use, and operating cost savings versus alternatives. The system is proven as a mature prototype and is about to enter a field trial.
It provides the opportunity to find out about the potential for this innovative heat exchange process and explore options for energy saving in refrigerated transport applications.
