Point of Work Risk Assessment (Dynamic Risk Assessment) (GPG80)

Further to the changes in UK law and in particular to the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Chemicals Regulations (CLP), 2015. It is now necessary to follow the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere (DSEAR) risk assessment requirements, for substances classified within a physical hazard class in the CLP regulation, this includes hazard class H280.

This guidance note has been designed to prompt all those involved in operation, service and maintenance activities to review current practices.

A Point of Work Assessment should be completed for any service or maintenance activity at the start of each shift or whenever circumstances change significantly; it should be undertaken by the people doing the work and in the place where the work is taking place.

This guidance note also includes a template for Point of Work Assessment. An Excel version of this template is available here.
