F-Gas Service Ban and Product Prohibitions & Refrigerants Banned from Use As Of 1 January 2020 (GPG98)

This guide reminds members of the next steps in service and placing on the market bans, which came into force on 1 January 2020, under the F-Gas Regulations and updates members on what refrigerants are now banned from use.

Although the UK has left the EU, the regulations regarding the use of F Gas refrigerants remain exactly as they are at the moment in national law. Phase down steps, service and product bans either in place or coming into force - will all continue as planned over the coming years.

This guide also aims to address reports of confusion and a lot of misleading statements made by some parties on what refrigerants are banned. It is an update to REFCOM TB046 Service and Product Bans guidance, issued in December 2019, which should be referred to for information relating to specific product bans which came into effect on 1st January 2020 under the F-Gas Regulations.
