This bulletin is intended to provide an insight into tactile and visual techniques to assess the basic efficient operation of an air to air heat pump system. This bulletin looks at what can be done when a heat pump system is operating in reverse cycle heating. Many of the ‘sight, sound and smell’ checks would be exactly the same as for cooling mode except of course we would be looking for warm air from the indoor unit and cold air from the outdoor.
