Working on the Future of Skills for the RACHP Sector

The IOR Industry Skills Alliance is a strategic education and skills forum is designed to align training provision with the needs of employers across the sector and to act as the industry’s authoritative voice to awarding bodies, government, and policy stakeholders. Alongside its focus on increasing skills and supporting providers, the Alliance also serves as a valuable mechanism for encouraging investment in training and engagement between employers and trainers. It will become a central platform for sharing labour market intelligence, helping to inform future skills planning across the industry.

Structure of the IOR Industry Skills Alliance

The IOR Industry Skills Alliance is led by two co-chairs,  Andrew Bowden FInstR and Mark Harris MInstR, who provide overall direction and ensure the alliance delivers meaningful progress on skills development.

The alliance is organised into three focused groups, each with a clear purpose:

  • Early Talent & STEM Engagement -  this group is in charge of raising awareness of the industry by working with schools, running STEM outreach, and supporting initiatives such as the LEGO programme.
  • Funding, Bids & Capacity - this focus group's main goal is to develop a strong pipeline of funding opportunities to support long‑term outreach, workforce development, and collaborative projects.
  • Skills, Qualifications & CPDthis group will ensure that training, qualifications, and professional development align with employer needs, strengthens provision, and supports sustainable career pathways.
