Would you share a bit about your background? (Where did you study, what qualifications did you gain, what companies did you work for, what roles have you held?

I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of the West of Scotland and have been very fortunate to attain my C&G 2079, Hydrocarbons handling and Essential electrics qualifications from Cool Concerns. I have worked for HRP as a Trainee Sales engineer before becoming the National Sales manager for OEM for Beijer Ref, and am now very fortunate to be a Key Account manager for Danfoss Ltd.

What attracted you to the industry?

Like a lot of people I fell into the industry and haven’t looked back since!

What organisation do you work for and what is your role? How long have you been with the company?

I work For Danfoss as the Key Account manager, looking after their Indirect sales in the UK and Ireland, which means I am the main contact for wholesalers and installers. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been with Danfoss for nearly 5 years.

What are the key responsibilities you handle on a day-to-day basis?

Pricing, technical queries new legislation every day is different!

What do you enjoy most about your job, and what are the biggest challenges you face?

I enjoy the fact that every day is different, my favourite thing is trade events and talking to people face to face. The new legislation coming into place with F-gas and helping engineers get ready for this change.

Where do you see your career developing?

I see myself maybe looking after a global accounts or maybe in a more regional role, managing territories in Europe.

What do you like about this industry?

The fact it's more of a community and we all rally round.

What is your career highlight or proudest achievement?

There's been a few, but becoming Vice Chair of the Scottish Branch of the IOR is definitely a massive highlight. 

What advice would you give to women who are looking to enter or advance in the refrigeration and heating industry?

I always say this, but you deserve to be here and heard. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and never stop asking questions.
