The EU F-Gas Regulation of 2014 introduced a quota system to phase down the supply of HFC refrigerants. This legislation is designed to help protect the environment by encouraging the industry to move away from the use of refrigerants with a high Global Warming Potential (GWP) which would cause the most damage to the environment if allowed to leak to atmosphere.
