The importance of on-site refrigerant recycling (GPG73)

As the supply of high Global Warming Potential (GWP) F-Gas refrigerant becomes restricted under the EU F-Gas phase down, the effective recycling of as much recovered refrigerant as possible is becoming increasingly important.

  • Recycling is defined as the recovery of refrigerant for direct reuse e.g. on site
  • Recovery is defined as the removal of refrigerant from a system to a cylinder
  • Receiver cylinders are for refrigerant to be reused
  • Recovery cylinders are for refrigerant to be returned for reprocessing or destruction
