Introduction to the Updated BRA Brazing Specification Part 1 – Standards, Regulations and Safety Considerations (GPG100)

This simple brazing procedure specification and approval for jointing copper pipework for refrigeration systems has been developed by the BRA Commercial Contractors Section in recognition of the importance of brazed joints in maintaining the effective and efficient operation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

The full specification is available from the BRA website at www.feta.co.uk. It also incorporates a practical means of assessing an individual’s competence to braze joints for refrigeration and air conditioning pipe work in accordance with national standards used by the industry and relevant legislation. This 2021 revision has incorporated high strength copper alloy pipe in recognition of its adoption on R744 systems and is also applicable to A2L refrigerants.
