PDSim: A Generalized Modeling Platform to Predict the Performance of Positive Displacement Compressors

This paper describes a new comprehensive positive displacement simulation platform based on the previous compressor modelling efforts to predict the performance of hermetic positive displacement compressors. By reading this paper you will:

  • Gain an understanding of the working mechanisms of positive displacement compressors, such as reciprocating, scroll and rolling piston compressors
  • Understand the concept of generalised positive displacement compressor simulation models
