Presidential Address of the Institute of Refrigeration
This paper describes the process undertaken to design and develop a new Oil-Free Centrifugal Vapour Compressor (CVC) technology aimed at substantially reducing the energy consumption of air conditioning systems serving large buildings, data centres, process cooling and other applications, as well as high temperature refrigeration applications. This culminated in the successful design, build and run testing of a fully operational CVC 125kW oil-free compressor.
