The Institute of Refrigeration has issued a call for abstracts for the IIR International Rankine 2020 Conference - Advances in Cooling, Heating and Power Generation. This conference will take place at the University of Glasgow, Scotland from 26 to 29 July 2020 and will include a celebration of the life and legacy of William Rankine.
This conference, which is the first to bring together the disciplines of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps (RACHP), will feature three themes:
The event is expected to attract 300 delegates and 120 technical papers. Discounted registration for authors and students for this four day conference is available.

On 29 October, the IOR members met to share their reports on activity, plans and strategies for the future. Seven IOR committees met, including Membership, Education, Environment, Technical, Engineering Technician Group, Women in RACHP, and the Dinner Committee.

At the IOR Annual General Meeting held on 29 October 2025, election results were announced. Stephen Gill FInstR was voted President-Elect, and Stephen Benton FInstR together with David Bostock FInstR were elected as Trustees to the IOR Board.
