John Thompson from Turner Ltd is the winner of the Institute of Refrigeration’s unique James Bond competition. Organised in the autumn of 2017 for
apprentice and the undergraduate the competition gave participants the chance to win an amazing framed collector poster of “Live and Let Die” signed by the late Sir Roger Moore.
Upon winning, John said “as much as what I guess most people think when they enter a competition they assume it is highly unlikely that they would be the chosen winner and their entry gets forgotten about, but to my surprise I received a pleasant email from IOR congratulating me that I had won this.
John further commented on his relationship with the IOR and the numerous benefits of membership “I was luckily chosen to compete in the Worldskills UK SkillFRIDGE last year and with that every competitor was given an IOR membership subscription. This membership was a saint and became a regular point of reference that aided me throughout my third year at college.”
