Dominic Dray from Eastleigh College has been announced as this year's SkillFridge Gold Winner at last week's WorldSkills UK in Birmingham. Dominic is working for Royale Refrigeration & Air Conditioning where he is currently half way through his apprenticeship. Runner ups were Chandler Davison of Thermocold who won silver and Sam Gills who got Bronze.We would like to congratulate Dominic and all the participants in the competition who are helping to showcase talent and raise the profile of the industry at these national competitions. In appreciation the IOR is offering a years free membership to all of the finalists recognising their unique contribution to the future of our industry. Bookings Open For Adaptation 2027

Bookings are now open for the 2nd IIR International Conference on Refrigeration Adapting to Rising Temperatures. Taking place in Birmingham (UK) from 8 to 10 March 2027, the conference programme will take an international view of adaptation strategies and bring together international experts to accelerate the transition toward a sustainable, future‑proof global cooling sector.

The next IOR Industry Skills Alliance in-person meeting will be held in London on 24th September. Join us to help us progress in our key areas, which include strengthening apprenticeship and T Level pathways, shaping qualification design, expanding STEM and early engagement activity, and increasing the number of young people entering the profession.
