2021 is set to be a big year for climate change policy and the road to net zero. Culminating in the UK Climate Change Conference – COP26 in Glasgow in November. On the 18th and 19th May the Cold Chain Federation is holding an event that will examine COP26 and the latest climate change policy and their impact on businesses operating in the cold chain.
The Cold Chain Federation will be revealing detail on the next phase of their Net Zero Project and focussing on some actions which will drive decarbonisation the cold chain sector. Full details on the event can be found on our website.
DAY 1 – CLIMATE CHANGE POLICY & THE COLD CHAIN

On Day 1 the programme will focus on COP26 and climate change policy and how these could influence businesses in the cold chain. It willalso discuss the next stage of the Cold Chain Federation’s work on Net Zero as well as the multi-million pound research projects which have recently been commissioned to look at decarbonising the cold chain. Joining Cold Chain Federation Chief Executive Shane Brennan will be Dan Hamza-Goodacre (COP 26 Champions Team), Professor Toby Peters (Professor in Cold Economy, University of Birmingham), Dr Rob Lamb (Star Refrigeration) and Tom Southall (Policy Director, Cold Chain Federation).
DAY 2 – TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION TO SUPPORT A NET ZERO COLD CHAIN

The road to net zero is all about action. Day 2 will examine some of the actions cold chain businesses can take to begin to reduce the emissions from their operations and how to finance them. Hosted by Cold Chain Federation Policy Director, Tom Southall, speakers include; the Cooperative Group & Co-op Power, Neil Stott, (Business Development Director, Mypower) and David Kipling (Director, Onsite Energy Projects).
