IOR Presidential Address - Back to the Future

Overview

Ten years ago, Steve's first IOR Presidential Address took a different approach. Rather than delivering a traditional Presidential speech, four apprentices were invited to take centre stage and talk about their hopes, challenges and ambitions for themselves and the sector. This time, the conversation brings together a new generation of apprentices with professionals who were themselves apprentices a decade ago. The panellists will share their experiences, reflect on how their careers have developed and explore what has changed, what has stayed the same, and what the next generation can expect.

Presenter

Steve Gill FInstR is a highly experienced refrigeration industry professional and consultant. His first term as President of the Institute of Refrigeration ran from 2016 to 2018. With a career spanning many years across the RACHP sector, Steve has played an active role in supporting technical excellence, professional development and the promotion of the industry.

He is also the founder of World Refrigeration Day, established in 2019 to raise global awareness of the vital role played by refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technologies. Steve continues to contribute to the sector through his work with the IOR and his involvement in initiatives that promote skills, best practice and the importance of the RACHP industry.
