I hope 2026 has started well for you. And if it hasn’t – I hope it improves with haste. A new year it is – reboot and refresh. And for some, a look back. Not always recommended, but the internet IS looking back to 2016. Many people are posting pictures and videos from a year that seems like 5 minutes ago, but is actually a full decade ago.
When we talk about refrigeration, often the focus is on tangibles such as refrigerants, technology and energy efficiency. But the more time I spend in this industry the more I realise that the real system isn’t just made of compressors and coils – it is made of people.
So in October the IOR’s WIRACP network hosted a tour of the Tour of Queens Quay Energy Centre in Glasgow and we were delighted that a healthy number of students from West College Scotland took part. It is always encouraging to see the next generation of engineers taking part in these types of meeting and employers supporting them to take part in industry-led activities that help them develop a better understanding of the industry as a whole,
