Ian Fisher FInstR is an IOR Board Member and member of the IOR'S RACHP Engineering Technicians Section Committee. He is the Technical Sales Director at Mattair and his career in RACHP has spanned over 30 years. He has a wealth of experience in air conditioning, close control, chillers, refrigeration, ventilation and heat pumps. He is a TM44 Air Conditioning Energy Assessor and Decarbonisation (Heating) Solutions specialist.

On 29 October, the IOR members met to share their reports on activity, plans and strategies for the future. Seven IOR committees met, including Membership, Education, Environment, Technical, Engineering Technician Group, Women in RACHP, and the Dinner Committee.

At the IOR Annual General Meeting held on 29 October 2025, election results were announced. Stephen Gill FInstR was voted President-Elect, and Stephen Benton FInstR together with David Bostock FInstR were elected as Trustees to the IOR Board.

The IOR and the ACES have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration and promote the exchange of ideas and expertise during the Clean Cooling Network Conference on the Sustainable Cold Chain for the Global South, taking place at the University of Birmingham from 28–29 October 2029.

On 20th Oct the Department for Education (with others) published this document outlining future skills policy and new V levels to sit alongside A levels and T Levels in key sectors such as engineering.
