If you were unable to join the live sessions of this free online course the recordings are now available.

The course has three modules. The modules will share best practice as well as common mistakes made when designing, installing and running heating systems based on heat pumps.

Use the links below to access the recordings.

  • Module 1 - Heat pumps, the basics.
  • Module 2: The behaviour of the heating system. Designing a heating system in a new building with the heat pump in mind.
  • Module 3: The behaviour of the heating system. Retrofitting an existing building to accommodate a heat pump as the main source of heating.
  • The formulas required to take part in the exercises in modules 2 and 3.

It is not necessary to attend all three modules however a basic understanding of heat pumps is required to take part in modules 2 and 3. The modules will not explain how to design a system but focus solely on how to maximise efficiency when doing so.

Please be aware that the recording have been edited and CPD certificates are not available on these recordings

Opportunity For Employers To Influence Future Skills

10 Dec 2024

BESA, on behalf of the Engineering Building Services Skills Authority (EBBSA,) are setting up Sector Groups (SG’s) in occupations within Building Services.  The SG’s purpose is to bring employers within specific occupation groups together to determine the roles that exist within that occupational area, thereafter determine a competency framework for these roles.  The IOR is pleased to be invited to support this work and to help co-ordinate outputs with its own plans to map skills needs and roles in the RACHP sector.
