Members share their experiences of working with schools on STEM projects to promote awareness of our industry and engage with young people. We will look at the role of STEM learning and the STEM ambassadors programme (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) and the STEMAZING training academy which is offering training for three IOR members in 2023.
We will also talk about the resources available from the IOR to support your STEM activity such as www.fantasticfridges.com and how these are being added to with some Advanced Practice pages looking at new technologies and efficiencies.
The webchat will be for everyone to share ideas and experience to inspire each other to make contacts with schools, STEM and support careers initiatives.
This IOR STEM network is a group of professionals who want to inspire more members to get involved in promoting careers and share successes.

BESA, on behalf of the Engineering Building Services Skills Authority (EBBSA,) are setting up Sector Groups (SG’s) in occupations within Building Services. The SG’s purpose is to bring employers within specific occupation groups together to determine the roles that exist within that occupational area, thereafter determine a competency framework for these roles. The IOR is pleased to be invited to support this work and to help co-ordinate outputs with its own plans to map skills needs and roles in the RACHP sector.
