Stephen Gill FInstR has been announced as the next IOR President-Elect following an election and took up the role immediately at the IOR Annual General Meeting 29 October 2025. Over the next year, as President-Elect he will join the IOR Board and work with the current IOR President, Lisa-Jayne Cook FInstR until she hands over to him as the next IOR President at the AGM in November 2026.
Stephen Benton FInstR and David Bostock FInstR were also elected as two new Trustees onto the IOR Board.
IOR President Lisa-Jayne Cook thanked all of the candidates for their willingness to put their names forward for election this year, including those who were not successful this time. She also thanked retiring Trustees Paul Singh FInstR and Damian Wiszniewski FInstR for their commitment and service over their terms on the Board.

About the IOR President Elect
Stephen Gill FInstR brings a combination of hands-on engineering expertise and global strategic insight—shaped by decades of frontline experience and strengthened by having served a previous term as IOR President in 2014-2016. His ongoing engagement with the Institute includes mentoring, judging awards, the WiRACHP Committee, and leading international initiatives such as World Refrigeration Day. Since serving as President, Stephen has been serving on boards, contributing to standards bodies and policy forums, and leading sustainable cooling strategy at the Carbon Trust. His qualifications in business law and management accounting provide a strong foundation in governance, compliance, and oversight. His career spans small private firms, multinationals, consultancy, and public-sector advisory, giving him a balanced view of the sector’s challenges and opportunities.
About the Two New IOR Trustees
Stephen Benton FInstR Following his time-served apprenticeship, Steve gained experience as a service and maintenance engineer, supervisory and commissioning roles, and service management and service director positions. In 2003 he joined Cool Concerns. He has been actively involved with the IOR Service Engineer Section and continues to serve on the IOR Technical Committee and well as representing IOR on standards committees and drafting technical publications.
David Bostock FInstR David’s experience combines extensive business knowledge gained at senior positions in several companies (covering almost all aspects and applications) and a previous term serving on the IOR Board of Trustees and on ACRIB. He is keen to use his experience to make a positive contribution to the effective steering, guidance and overview of the IOR.
