During its AGM, held on 5 November 2024, the IOR announced that members have elected two new Trustees to join the Board:
Chairing the AGM, Mike Creamer FInstR thanked all of the candidates who stood for election commending their commitment to volunteer on the Board. He confirmed that all of the new Trustees would be encouraged to get even more actively involved in IOR initiatives and committees. He took this opportunity to extend his thanks to outgoing Board Members Catarina Marques FInstR and Ian Fisher FInstR recognising their valuable contributions and support during their terms.
The AGM also marked the beginning of Lisa-Jayne Cook FInstR’s two-year term as the IOR President. As she stepped into her new role, she said: "I am incredibly honoured and excited to take on the role of IOR President at such a pivotal time for our industry. With pressing challenges and opportunities on the horizon, from decarbonisation to advancing digitalisation, I believe that now, more than ever, the RACHP industry has a critical role to play in shaping a sustainable future. Over recent months, I’ve had the privilege of attending committee meetings and speaking with many of our members, gaining invaluable insights into their perspectives, ideas, and challenges. These conversations have only strengthened my commitment to a collaborative approach, and I look forward to continuing this engagement throughout my presidency. By bringing together our members’ diverse experiences and expertise, we can advance the interests of our industry. The IOR has long been a beacon for knowledge-sharing, education, and guidance. My goal as President is to build upon that foundation, strengthening our support for members and inspiring the next generation to join us in driving sustainable progress in refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump technologies. It’s a tremendous privilege to serve this remarkable industry and to contribute to its ongoing growth and impact."
Lisa-Jayne Cook will be giving her presidential address on the topic of Digitalisation and AI Shaping the Future of Heating and Cooling on the afternoon of 5th November and the paper can be downloaded at www.ior.org.uk/events/digitalisation.
