“We can’t rely on schools and careers ambassadors to promote our industry – we are the ones who care about it, we have to get out there are do it ourselves!”
“I challenge you all to make contact with your local school and ask how you can help promote careers and science”
These quotes are from employers who took part in the IOR Annual Conference in December 2022. They are a call to action to IOR members to get involved in STEM - the promotion of science, technology, engineering and maths subjects and careers.
There is a lot of work going on to nationally to promote STEM with schools but very little of it covers refrigeration and air conditioning. In the recorded talk below we introduce three STEM initiatives that the IOR is leading on, initiatives designed to provide tools and encouragement for IOR members to get involved with schools, careers fairs and science clubs. Help us to address these challenges by taking action.
