Each membership application is considered individually by our Membership Elections Committee each month. The grade of membership you are allocated will be decided by the Committee based on the information you provide in your application about your experience, responsibilities and qualifications. Please download the detailed Guide to IOR Membership Grades before you begin your application so that you have the necessary information required to meet the membership grade requirements.

What you will need to complete your application

Member, Associate, Pre-Associate or Technician Grade

Your full career history - including RACHP and other jobs held, levels of responsibility and dates. Tip - if you have held different roles within the same company, list these out separately.
An experience statement - consider projects or examples that demonstrate your responsibilities at work that you can detail in this section
A sponsor - the name and email of someone who knows your work who we can contact to confirm your information. Tip - this should not be a family member.
Copies of your qualifications - eg Apprenticeship, NVQ, Degree, F Gas. Tip - have jpg or pdf versions ready to upload
Any other information you want to upload relevant to your application
You will need to pay a £49 joining fee when you submit your application (not required for Pre-Associate and Technician grade)

Affiliate Grade

You just need to add your postal address for mailings and email
You will need to pay your first year's membership fee when you submit your application
A joining fee of £49 will be applied

RACHP EngTech section mailing subscribers

You just need to add your postal address for mailings and email
You will need to pay your first year's membership fee when you submit your application

Advancing your Grade of membership

Go to Step 1 to login and then select the "advancement for existing members" option from the drop-down list in the online new member form
You will need to supply a full career history, experience statement, sponsor contact information and copies of qualifications.
There is no fee for advancement, you simply pay the new rate on renewal in April
