More help and advice

  • How grades are allocated - A Membership Committee made up of professionals such as yourself will decide on the most suitable grade of membership based on the information you provide in your application form.  Experience is just as important as qualifications. The Professional Experience section of the application form gives you space to provide more detail of actual examples explaining the responsibilities of your work - here is an example of a Professional Experience Statement.

  • If you are new to the sector, or recently qualified, and don't have sufficient experience to meet the grades requirements, you may be offered Pre-Associate or Affiliate membership. This will allow you to access benefits of membership and you can apply to advance your membership at no charge when you have gained more experience.

  • It usually takes less than a month for your application to be reviewed and a grade of membership allocated. Our Membership Secretary will acknowledge your application and keep you informed of progress, as well as sending a joining pack once your have paid your first year's fee.
  • Applicants have the right to query the grade allocated and provide additional information for consideration by the Committee in accordance with our Grading Appeals Policy.
