We are sorry to advise that Anthony Brown FInstR, IOR President from 1992 to 1994, has recently passed away at the age of 91. His influence and generosity left a lasting imprint on the refrigeration community. A co‑founder of Star Refrigeration, Anthony devoted decades of service to the Institute of Refrigeration, contributing consistently through his long tenure on the Finance Committee and guiding the organisation as President.

His commitment to strengthening the industry extended beyond his IOR Presidency. As a founding member of the Institute’s Scottish branch, he helped shape its early direction, serving as branch chairman from 1988 to 1990 and later being honoured with the Kooltech Award in 1997. Throughout his career, he remained a strong advocate for nurturing the next generation, always encouraging young people to take part in the industry’s work and future.

Our thoughts are with Anthony's family and friends at this difficult time.
