This year the IOR is holding elections for two new Board Trustees and the next President-Elect. Voting members (Member, Associate, Technician and Fellow) can cast their vote when they receive their unique voting code email from the independent voting organisation Mi-voice this week - check your spam if you have not received your email yet. The deadline for casting your vote is 28th October.

IOR Trustee nominations - Three nominations have been received for the two vacancies:
IOR President-Elect nominations - The IOR Constitution requires that the Board make a recommendation to members of candidates for President-Elect. A Nominating Committee consisting of the current Board Members and Past Presidents considered 13 possible candidates against the role specification. The Board has decided to recommend the following two candidates to the membership from which to select:
The role of the President-Elect is to support the current IOR President in their role as Chairman of the IOR Board of Trustees until they stand down the following year.

IOR AGM 4th November 2021
Results of the elections will be announced at the Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Refrigeration. The event will be held in London and also online. IOR has published its latest Education Guidance Note in the series, this time focusing on Coaching as a way of employers supporting engineering and technician development. The Guidance Note (16) gives a guide to understanding the benefits of coaching, how this differs from mentoring and includes a useful list of organisations who can offer help with setting up coaching schemes or offer coaching.
