The IOR Industry Skills Alliance is working with Skills England to support the apprenticeship assessment reform process for the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard (ST0322).
The Alliance, which brings together employers, training providers and industry stakeholders from across the RACHP sector, will play an important role in gathering industry feedback and ensuring that employer perspectives are represented throughout the reform process.
Members of the IOR Industry Skills Alliance have received further information about the assessment reform process and opportunities to contribute. Discussions will focus on developing an assessment plan based on the existing knowledge, skills and behaviours within the standard, while considering the three mandatory qualifications that currently form part of the apprenticeship.
The Alliance encourages anyone interested in skills development and the future RACHP workforce to get involved. Membership is free and provides opportunities to contribute not only to apprenticeship reform, but also to a wide range of workforce development initiatives, including career pathways, progression routes for new and experienced entrants, and STEM outreach activities that help raise awareness of careers in the sector.
Meeting regularly through both online working groups and in-person events, the Industry Skills Alliance has already supported several key initiatives, including the development of new STEM outreach materials and the creation of workforce progression and upskilling strategies.
The next in-person Industry Skills Alliance meeting will take place in London on 24 September – register here.
