Nominations are now open for the J&E Hall Gold Medal, one of the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump sector's most respected awards, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Organised by the IOR, the J&E Hall Gold Medal recognises the most noteworthy practical contribution to innovation in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology. Over the past five decades, the award has honoured some of the industry's most influential pioneers, including renowned figures such as Gustav Lorentzen.
The award carries a prize of £5,000 and is open to individuals or teams responsible for recent practical technological advancements in one or more of the following areas:
- Practical applications of innovative designs
- RACHP installations, developments and technologies that have made an original contribution to the field
- Systems that demonstrate substantial potential, supported by evidence that they will be completed successfully
- Outstanding and significant work in a new or unusual area of design and installation
The IOR is encouraging nominations from across the RACHP sector to help identify the next recipient of this prestigious accolade. The award continues to recognise innovations that deliver practical benefits and advance technology, design and engineering excellence throughout the industry.
Nominations are open until 23 October 2026, and the nomination form is available here.
The winner will be announced at the IOR Annual Dinner, taking place on 25 February 2027 at the Hilton London Bankside, London.
