Over the next 12 to 18 months, the IOR Industry Skills Alliance working group on Skills, Qualifications and CPD will work with NOCN Group to develop a suite of short, stackable regulated qualifications, creating clearer upskilling and progression routes into RACHP careers.
The qualifications will be designed to support practising electricians, plumbing and heating engineers, maintenance personnel and new entrants to the sector, providing the specialist refrigeration knowledge, practical skills and regulatory awareness needed to work effectively within RACHP.
By bringing together the expertise of the Institute of Refrigeration, NOCN Group and employers from across the industry, the work will ensure that the qualifications developed reflect current and emerging workforce needs and provide practical opportunities for people to build their skills throughout their careers.
Kristopher Dean, Product Development Manager – Engineering, Manufacturing & Renewables at NOCN Group, said:
“The RACHP sector is evolving quickly, and there is a clear need for flexible routes that allow people to build specialist skills as their careers develop. Working with the Institute of Refrigeration and industry through the Skills Alliance gives us the opportunity to develop qualifications that respond directly to those needs, while creating clearer progression routes for both existing workers and people looking to enter the sector.”
