This podcast was recorded as part of the IIR International Cold Chain and Sustainability Conference held in April 2022 and organised by the Institute of Refrigeration.

We invited a team of experts to discuss carbon reduction opportunities. Can the global cold chain do more with less, whilst at the same time meeting changing customer demands?  What will be the role of new business models, improved data sources and coherence across stakeholders in making more rapid gains towards net zero and more effective policy solutions?

Guest chair Julie Hanson of the Global Cold Chain Alliance puts questions to our panel:

- Brian Churchyard of Asda

- Andrea Voigt of Danfoss

- Shane Brennan of the Cold Chain Federation

- Melanie Jans Singh of BEIS, UK Dept for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy

Opportunity For Employers To Influence Future Skills

10 Dec 2024

BESA, on behalf of the Engineering Building Services Skills Authority (EBBSA,) are setting up Sector Groups (SG’s) in occupations within Building Services.  The SG’s purpose is to bring employers within specific occupation groups together to determine the roles that exist within that occupational area, thereafter determine a competency framework for these roles.  The IOR is pleased to be invited to support this work and to help co-ordinate outputs with its own plans to map skills needs and roles in the RACHP sector.
