What happens next?

Your application will be acknowledged, usually within a week by the Membership Secretary. Full membership applications are then reviewed by our Membership Committee and you should receive confirmation of your grade within a month provided you have included a CV, copies of qualifications and sponsor information. If you have not provided a full and detailed career history with explanation of your different job responsibilities or there are gaps in your career history, your application will be delayed whilst we contact you to gain further information or carry out a telephone interview if necessary.  The full Membership fee for this year will then become due. (Note for Fast Track Affiliates the membership is activated immediately, but the benefits and rights of this type of membership are limited see Membership Grades pages).

Once you become an IOR Member you will be given a password to download free IOR technical guides together with your joining pack including guidance, badge, cd-rom of codes of practice and a Membership Certificate.  You can then apply for registration with the Engineering Council in accordance with recognised professional requirements as CEng, IEng or EngTech.
