In response to unprecedented demand, organisers of the inaugural IIR International Conference on Refrigeration Adapting to Rising Temperatures have extended the abstract submission deadline to 19 November 2024.

This landmark conference will be held in person from 10 to 13 August 2025 in Manchester, UK.

As global temperatures continue to rise, the RACHP industry faces increasing challenges. The conference aims to address these issues by encouraging dialogue and innovation among professionals dedicated to developing sustainable, climate-resilient solutions. Organisers are inviting abstracts that present case studies, innovations, research, and expert insights on the intersection of refrigeration technology and climate adaptation. Contributions should align with the following themes: 

  • Managing Risk
  • Environmental and Social Governance
  • The Future Landscape of RACHP   

Key dates are:

  • 19th November 2024:  Abstract submission deadline
  • 1st December 2024: Abstract acceptance and manuscript submission instructions
  • 3rd February 2025:  Manuscript submission deadline
  • 10th March 2025:  Notification of acceptance or rejection of manuscripts
  • 4th April 2025: Closing date for authors’ revisions to manuscripts 
  • 10th-13th August 2025: Conference

New IOR Guidance Note on Coaching

IOR has published its latest Education Guidance Note in the series, this time focusing on Coaching as a way of employers supporting engineering and technician development.  The Guidance Note (16) gives a guide to understanding the benefits of coaching, how this differs from mentoring and includes a useful list of organisations who can offer help with setting up coaching schemes or offer coaching.
