There are only two weeks left to make your nomination for the prestigious J&E Hall Gold Medal. This internationally respected award recognises the most noteworthy practical contribution to the field of innovation in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology. The award has been sponsored by J&E Hall International consistently for 44 years with a prize award of £5,000, and is open to individuals or teams responsible for recent practical technology advancement in one or more of the following areas:
The award is designed to encourage progress rather than acknowledge past achievement and the winner will join a select list of recipients that includes refrigeration greats such as Prof Gustav Lorentzen, Prof Prga Hrnjak, Dr Mark McLinden, and Prof. Eckhard Groll.

IOR has published its latest Education Guidance Note in the series, this time focusing on Coaching as a way of employers supporting engineering and technician development. The Guidance Note (16) gives a guide to understanding the benefits of coaching, how this differs from mentoring and includes a useful list of organisations who can offer help with setting up coaching schemes or offer coaching.
